Your email address:  Well-nighthe CentreWell-nighthe Centre The NCETM is managed by a consortium of Tribal Education and Mathematics in Education and Industry (MEI). It is funded by the Department for Education (DfE). Our aims The aims of the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM) are to raise levels of victory in maths, and to increase appreciation of the power and wonder of maths, wideness the school, sixth form higher and remoter education system. In this context, our specific task is to try to ensure that all teachers of maths - and this includes all primary school teachers, and non-specialist maths teachers - have easy wangle to upper quality, evidence-based, maths-specific standing professional minutiae (CPD) at every point of their careers. The main waterworks of our support for teachers and schools is the Maths Hubs programme, which we lead and coordinate. In our interaction with primary schools and primary teachers, the majority of our support comes through the various strands of the Teaching for Mastery programme. Our activities Collaborating with Government and its agencies, higher education institutions, research bodies, maths subject associations and other persons devoted to maths education, and working slantingly the Maths Hubs, we operate in four main ways: through our website, where individual teachers, however experienced, can trammels and refine their subject knowledge and pedagogy, wangle a vast gazetteer of classroom-based research, and mart views and wits with colleagues virtually the country; through our support (face to squatter and online) for all schools, colleges, organisations and individuals with a professional minutiae role as providers of CPD for teachers of maths in all settings, and in providing a framework for quality warranty of that provision; through managing the coordination of national Maths Hubs projects, such as the Teaching for Mastery Programme. by disseminating papers, summarising our current thinking in key areas of mathematics education, aimed at the whole maths education community, including classroom teachers. Recent examples of this work include: Secondary Marking Guidance (October 2016) The Essence of Maths Teaching for Mastery (June 2016)  Primary Marking Guidance (April 2016) Calculation Guidance for Primary Schools Summary page on teaching for mastery Guidance on Mathematics Textbook Design (January 2015) PrimaryTowageMaterials (March 2015) SecondaryTowageMaterials (December 2017) Teaching for Mastery: Supporting Research, Evidence and Argument (December 2017) Our reach Early in 2018, there are over 300 000 registered users of the NCETM website Resources created by teachers working through the Maths Hubs programme and published on the NCETM website have proved immensely popular. For example: By January 2018, increasingly than 1.3 million downloads of primary mastery towage materials. By January 2018, increasingly than 45 000 downloads of Primary Marking Guidance.
