Your email address:   Mastery Created on 14 May 2015 by ncetm_administrator Updated on 01 May 2018 by ncetm_administrator   Mastery of mathematics is something that we want pupils - all pupils - to acquire, or rather to protract acquiring throughout their school lives, and beyond. Understanding of teaching for mastery is well wide in a large number of primary schools. In secondary schools, while the objective - helping pupils develop deep understanding - is identical to that in primary, work is standing to explore the most constructive teaching approaches, given the context of older pupils heading in the direction of differing tier entries at GCSE, and variegated post-16 pathways. A small number of secondary schools in every Maths Hub zone is engaged in exploratory and developmental work, with some once making significant changes in KS3, such as moving yonder from setting equal to attainment.
